The process is completed when areas are unoccupied it kills bacteria and viruses both in the air and on surfaces. Control of viruses is achieved because the plasma disrupts the DNA of the virus and it cannot reproduce. Also the plasma can get into hidden corners and cracks as the plasma travels in the air.

This method is particularly effective in hospitals, care homes and clinics for areas where patients that had MRSA or any other type of infections or viruses might have been isolated or cared for as it decontaminates the area. Strict hygiene regimes need to be observed after treatment so that the area does not get contaminated quickly again.
